Whole-kernel and broken-kernel ratio, chalkiness, discolored or damaged kernels, grain type, size, milling quality and other agreed physical criteria.
Moisture, heating, visible mold, storage condition, ventilation and signs of deterioration. Acceptance limits must be confirmed for the product and contract.
Stones, soil, plant material, other grains or seeds, packaging contamination, live insects and other foreign material.
Bag or net weight, packaging condition, labels, lot identity, documents, loading quantity and consistency with the purchase specification.
Coordinate external laboratory testing for aflatoxin and other mycotoxins, pesticide residues, heavy metals, microbiology or authenticity questions when required.

Sample basis, sensory observations, measurements, photographs, weight or quantity records, document review and a CONFORM, NOT CONFORM or PENDING result where appropriate.
Visual and physical inspection cannot establish aflatoxin, other mycotoxins, pesticide residues, heavy metals, microbiology or nutritional composition. These questions require laboratory testing using an appropriate method.
