Why the risk matters
A shipment can appear visually acceptable while the delivered net product quantity is lower than expected. Glazing, drained weight and the agreed weighing method must be defined before conclusions are drawn.
What can be checked on site
Confirm the weighing equipment and method, sample sealed packs from the agreed lot, record gross, tare and net values, and document the condition before and after any agreed deglazing step. The report should state the method, sample size and limitations.
What evidence supports the finding
Keep scale readings, sample identifiers, photographs, packing details and the relevant purchase requirement together. A single isolated pack is not a representative conclusion unless the scope says so.
When laboratory testing is separate
Weight and glazing are normally method-based physical checks. Chemical residues, microbiology or species authenticity are different questions and may require laboratory analysis; one type of evidence cannot replace the other.
